Significance of Chhath Puja & How Chhath Puja is been celebrated ?

One of the major festivals celebrated in India is Chhath Puja which is celebrated on the sixth of the Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. The sister of the Sun God is worshiped as the sixth maiya. According to the mythology, if someone worships the sixth maiya with complete law, then his desire is fulfilled, that is why everyone worships the mother with full devotion and celebrates this festival with full fervor.It is said that this festival is the biggest festival of Biharis, this is their culture. Chhath festival is celebrated in Bihar with big dhum dham. This is the only festival in Bihar or the whole of India that has been going on since Vedic period and it has become the culture of Bihar. This festival shows a small glimpse of Vedic Aryan culture of Bihar.This unique folk festival of Suryopasna is mainly celebrated in the Terai regions of Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Nepal.Gradually this festival has become prevalent around the world along with the diaspora.


The word 'Tram'  came from Scots (The Germanic language) word. We can see this vehicle only Urban streets. Calcutta is the first city in the India who got trams. We found out the first horse drawn trams ran in Calcutta between American Ghat to Sealdah on 24 Feb 1873 . But the service closed on 20 Nov in that year. Then British rulers registered  Calcutta Tram Way company in London on 22 dec 1880. The first electric trams ran in kolkata in 27th march 1902 from Esplaned to Kidderpore . Over the year few more line introduced in all over the city.  The esplanade line extended to Belgacia, Esplaned to sealdah, esplaned to bagbazar route are opened in 1904. On other hand Kalighat line extended to Tollygunge. In feb 1943 when Howrah Bridge constructed  then Howrah and Calcutta conected by the trams.
