This is the first temple in the country where the tricolor is hoisted.After independence, the first tricolor flag was hoisted here in Ranchi, which was hoisted by a freedom fighter Krishna Chandra Das of Ranchi. The Jagannath temple is located in Dhurva, Ranchi, it was built by Nagavanshi king Thakur Anni Nath Shahdev, it is built on the lines of Jagannath temple in Puri.The temple is built on a small hill with a height of about 85-. 90 meters. There are many dense trees in the temple premises which make its environment even more pure. Many changes have been made in the temple's structure from the construction period till date. At present, there is a facility to reach the main gate of the temple with a vehicle. There is another small temple on a hill located a short distance from the main temple, which is known as Mausibari. On the occasion of Rath Yatra, the journey from the main temple to Mausibari is taken out. Every year a grand Rath Yatra takes place and a fair is held for seven days.


The Sun Temple has an extremely captivating architecture and has the shape of a giant vehicle with 18 wheels driven by seven horses. The temple complex also has a holy pond which is highly revered among Hindus.

The Birsa Zoological Park, also known as Birsa Jaivik Udyan houses a wide variety of wild animals like lions, tigers, various kinds of deer etc. It is located on the Ranchi-Patna National Highway near Ormanjhi and is a must-visit for all wildlife enthusiasts. As part of the animal adoption program, you can also adopt an animal and contribute to the wildlife preservation drive of this park.


Dedicated to the ferocious 16-armed Goddess Kali, the Deori Mandir was originally built by a tribal devotee of the goddess with nothing but sandstone. Holding tremendous religious significance, thousands of devotees pray to the goddess and tie a thread around a bamboo as a ritual. The temple gained popularity when news broke out that famous cricketer MS Dhoni visits the temple on a regular basis.

Located at the base of the majestic Ranchi hill, this lake was constructed in the year 1842 by a British National Colonel Onsely. It is centrally located and has boating facilities. Being well-maintained by the authorities, this is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed evening and is ideal for picnics. The Ranchi hill itself is a popular tourist destination, it also has a Shiv Mandir at its top and one can get a panoramic view of the entire city from there.


The Dasham Falls is located on Ranchi Jamshedpur road, about 40 kilometers from Ranchi. The original name of the Dasam Falls is "Da: Som". "The word da: som is from the local Mundari language. The word da: som is made up of two words da: and som. Da: means water and som means coagulation. 


Jonha Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Jharkhand. It is about 41 kilometers from the district headquarters. Due to the paved road, access to this place is simple and safe.


Sita Falls is a slightly unknown waterfalls situated a little on the outskirts of Ranchi. The water falls originate from River Kanchi amidst gorgeous green landscape and dense woods.
