Kathgodam railway station is the nearest station to Nainital, which is located at a distance of 35 km from here. This railway station is connected by direct trains to Lucknow, Agra and Bareilly. Tourists can hire taxis to reach Nainital from here.

Tourists can avail private and public bus service to reach Nainital. Apart from this, private Volvo buses are also available from Delhi to Nainital. Semi-deluxe and deluxe buses are also available from Almora, Ranikhet, and Badrinath to Nainital.
