McLeodganj or Maklodganj (sometimes also called McLeodganj or McLeod Ganj) is a suburb of Dharamshala, a town in the Kangra district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is also known as "Chhota Lhasa" or "Dhasa" (abbreviation used by Tibetans for Dharamshala) due to a large population of Tibetan people. The headquarters of Tibet's exile government are also located in McLeodganj. McLeodganj is named after Sir Donald Friel McLeod who was the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab; The suffix 'Ganj' is a Hindi word which generally means "neighborhood".

It has an average elevation of 2,082 meters (6,831 ft) above sea level and is located in the Dhauladhar mountain range, whose highest peak, "Hanuman's Dunes", is about 5,639 meters (18,500 ft) high.
